Who will own what is in your safety deposit box?
Do you have a safety deposit box? If you have a safety deposit box, you should address the ownership of the safety deposit box’s contents in your will. Some people who own collectibles such as gold, baseball cards, bonds or stocks may not desire those contents to be divided up between their heirs based on the registered owner of the safety deposit box. Some items in your safety deposit box such as life insurance policies, registered stocks or bonds do have ownership designated on the items. However, some investments such as gold or bearer bonds do not address ownership. Ownership and the designated heir of those investments should be addressed in your last will.
